Lighting for Promos and Portraits!
As a Published Artist at Daz 3D, I hate fussy lighting when I do my promos. I want it simple and I want it to look good. I don't usually have a lot of time to play around with a lot of setups. My character needs to look interesting and be well enough lit that I can see all the good details.
With that in mind, I created these HDRI lights. These will light your figure quickly and simply with minimal fuss. Pick an HDR. Add a backlight or a sidelight to help separate your figure from the background. And that is pretty much it.
Included are 12 HDRIs plus their mirrors for a total of 24 presets. These are 6 Neutral light setups, 3 Warm and 3 Cool Lights. Utilities are included to adjust the intensity of the HDR and to rotate it to really get a beautiful dynamic look.
Also, there are 2 back lights (right and left) and 2 side lights (right and left). Of course, colors are needed, so there are 12 color gels + white reset for the side and back lights.
These are meant to be studio light setups and unfortunately, do not make awesome backgrounds. I recommend using a backdrop to really customize your portraits! That's what I do!
