3DF Zephyr allows you to reconstruct 3D models from photos automatically. The process is entirely automatic, and no coded targets, manual editing or special equipment are needed. 3DF Zephyr is built on top of our proprietary, cutting-edge, reconstruction technology. 3DF Zephyr comes with a user-friendly interface, and the possibility to export in many common 3D formats or even to generate lossless video without the need for external tools. Furthermore, 3DF Zephyr has a lot of advances functionalities, and you can, for example, edit your models, create true orthophotos, digital elevation models (DTM), manage laser scan data and calculate areas, volumes, angles, contour lines, and much more.
A lot of these other programs are foreign to me. Could someone explain what this program does or is used for? Can it be used with daz models?
3DF Zephyr is a piece of photogrammetry software. Photogrammetry just lets you take photos (like with a smartphone or DSLR) and turn them into 3D objects by comparing the similarities between the photos. There’s a decent video tutorial of how this works here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4NTf0hMjtY
I don’t know how useful it is to use this software given there are free applications that do something similar. But some of the other software posted here is definitely worth checking out:
Photoshop is great for image editing (still better than any free software I’ve tried)
3DS Max lets you make 3D objects to put into Daz (though Blender is free and good)
Unity is a popular game engine (you can use Daz renders to make like a visual novel or something)
Marvelous Designer lets you make clothing or fabric for Daz characters and it’s also pretty easy and fun to use
Substance Painter is great for texturing (you can make much better textures, especially old models)
But if you’re just starting out with Daz, most of this software will just make your workflow really complicated. I’d just focus on stuff like iray, shaders and HDR lighting. All that’s in Daz and it’ll make your renders look waaaaay better than most peoples.
